Flair Pilates now offers 40 minute mat-based Pilates programs you can do in your living room! During periods of self-isolation, social-distancing and working from home it is important to schedule time to move your body. Many of us don't have a proper 'work' set up at home, our back starts to hurt, our hips get tight because perhaps our makeshift workstation isn't as good as it is at the office. These classes are a great way to take a break during the day, meaning you can work more productively and be happier in the process.
Convenience is key when it comes to exercise during the work day, and what could be more convenient than Pilates in your living room?
SIDE NOTE: If you are experiencing financial hardship as a result of COVID-19, please get in touch as we will help you join these classes (this is a judgement-free zone as we all try to navigate our way through a totally crappy situation!)
How it works
To join the live classes follow these simple steps:
If you are on a mobile device download the Zoom Meetings app here and create an account in advance (this will make joining your first class much easier!)
If you are using a computer you can also download Zoom, or use the web interface
Find a live class that suits you by clicking here or the Book Online tab in the menu. Once you have completed your registration you will receive an email with instructions on how to join via Zoom

What does the class involve?
The classes are all mat-based, and may incorporate the use of small, portable Pilates equipment such as a theraband, chi-ball and hand weights. If you don't own any Pilates equipment you can improvise with a couple of water bottles or canned veggies to use as hand weights, and a small pillow or rolled up towel to replace the chi-ball. Remember you can attend these classes with no props at all - we will offer alternatives for every situation!
Although Pilates is suitable for all ages and abilities, it is vital that when joining live classes that you use your common sense around your various injuries, restrictions and niggles. There is always a modification (ALWAYS!) and we will try and offer these during class, but feel free to tap out of any exercise that doesn't suit your body and wait for us to move on. You have the chance to provide details of any injuries or concerns to the instructor via the online form, please be honest as this will influence the types of exercises and modifications during the session. The wonderful thing about Pilates is that all exercises can be modified to suit the particular individual and all levels of strength and flexibility can be accommodated!
